I might be a bad Bostonian

I keep forgetting the Celtics are sort of a big deal right now. It takes the lights being green atop the Pru for me to think "Oh right - there's a game or something tonight!"

This doesn't happen to me during football season.

Also thank you to whoever thought it'd be a good idea to install colored lights on the Pru. From the bottom of my heart, thank you. Can I request cobalt blue be shown at some point?

My parents are deaf... and apparently so is my cat.

I walked into my apartment the other day to get something from my bedroom. As I walked in - I could hear snoring. The cat. Snoring. It was 2:30 in the afternoon - I figured I'd wake him up and say "hey". So I called his name.

Nothing. Just more snoring.

I clapped my hands (in true power-clap fashion).

Nothing.

So I did the only rational thing I could think to do. I set up photobooth to take a video, went to the kitchen to get a pot and wooden spoon, and then I came back. He woke up after I moved the pot closer to his head. I bet you're thinking - he woke up to the sound - he must be hearing. Well - I'd counter with this - even my Dad (who is profoundly deaf) can hear an ambulance siren when it's but a few feet away. He usually says something like "wow - that must be really loud for you" after it goes on it's siren-y way.

All that to say - the fact that Hern didn't jolt right up says to me - he's pretty deaf. Here is some video proof.

I should do this more

I forgot for a while that I had started this. I should work on it more. Last update was a couple days before Christmas - life has been life since then.

I've been doing random things lately. In the past 2 months I've walked more miles than I think I can count - and I'm shrinking slightly as a result. I went vegetarian for a little while (also I learned to correctly spell vegetarian (I always thought it was vegitarian)) and enjoyed it - but I realized that I enjoy steak tips in my life. I haven't gotten a hair cut - it looks alright - I enjoy waking up and seeing what it looks like. And even though it's now getting really hot and humid out - I've got a little beard growing. Ah well. Life is good.

That and I made some paintings I find value in. I'm continuing to push the circle paintings. As I type this - I have one where I just finished the underpainting and I'm waiting for it to dry before I can use copious amounts of tape on it.

Here's a couple photos (most recent on top and the one that started the circle trend below):
